Though this is not always the case, the vast majority of these articles on Kansas history come directly from two primary sources: Kansas: A Cyclopedia of State History published in 1912 and History of the State of Kansas, published in 1883. Others are based on historic text from other books and publications, some link directly to our parent site, Legends of America, and yet more, are compilations from a number of sources. However, even when historic text is utilized for the basis of an article, we have edited these heavily often truncating them, adding updates, correcting grammar and spelling errors, and changing language for ease of readability.
